  1. I have been using record now max to burn my dvd after I have used dvdshrink and have no problem.
one of the options i use is the TAO and i use closed which works fine

What I need to know is that if i use the diskcopy option ie: copy a already decrypted movie, it does not give me the option of TAO closed so will my copy work in a standalone ?

    thanks for your help

  2. From a quick trial Record Max Now V4.50, using make exact copy, always closes the disc as a standard option.

I believe this makes it a DAO (Disc at Once).

On DVD-R I dont know if any compatability issues with TAO or DAO, personally I always use DAO for max standalone compatability.

In RMN carnt find any options in disc copy to change end disc status, but I suspose if you were making an exact copy why would want to leave it open.

If it helps Nero has more flexability over this sort of stuff.

becoz you are using the copy disk option rnm just does an image of the original disk so the new burned disk will be an exact copy and should play in your standalone ....... u cannot change the properties of a disk image rnm will read it as a dao an therefore you can only burn the image as a dao but it will still be an exact copy of the original

  4. Off Topic but,

Using DVD Decrypter then DVD2one then RNM.

If using DVD Decrypter in file mode the file size is under 4gb (it is a 2 layer DVD, so carnt use ISO), why does RNM come back with errors when importing all the decrypted files.

But if you run it through DVD2One, then use RNM no problems ?

Not to answer my own question but is it to do with the mapping of the bup and ifo files and is there any work around.

Nero has had compatability problems but when importing the video & audio_ts folders, it seams to want to burn ok.

dvd decrypter selects the main movie by default but you must also manually select the VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUP (hold down the ctrl key and select the files so as to keep the default files too) after ripping is complete make sure all the files are inside a folder named VIDEO_TS (must be uppercase) then burn with record now max selecting the VIDEO_TS folder as the folder to burn (ie click add files and folders in rnm and select the VIDEO_TS folder then click add)
