English is not my first language, but i hope you get the tech-stuff anyway.

I´m thinking about getting a Pinnacle PCTV Pro card. I want to be able to watch TV om my PC, copy my old VHS-tapes to DVD and try to get my old Laserdiscs into a better format (DVD).
(S)VCDs are not very interesting to me.

I probably am answering my own question on this one. I think this card makes MPEG2 files directly and then it´s easy to make DVDs. A digital card is the best because when you make the software change your file/film into MPEG2/digital format you don´t get the same quality.

I want as litte trouble as possible about the transfer.

I´ve seen Pinnacles own presentation on their web-site and it seems perfect for my use.

This sites presentation of this card does not mention the digital "side" about it. Is that card an old version or is it just an printing-error?

Should i go for this card?

Just want to say that so far all my knowledge ripping, back-up and burning comes from this site. It´s awsome!!

    greetings from Tott

  2. I don't think your PC matches the minimum for 720X480 capture. Their site says:

    Pentium 4 1800 MHz or Athlon XP™ 1800+
    "Terminated!" :firing:
