1. I burned a vcd with nero and it came out upside down!
How can I fix it?
2. Also looking for a avi2mpeg (or VCD) encoder.
Thank you!

The answer to both questions is TMPGEnc. Look it up in the 'Tools' section.
Do not encode an AVI file with Nero. To make a VCD, the safest options are:
a) Encode AVI file to MPEG1 using TMPGEnc.
b) Author with VCDEasy or TSCV and create a bin/cue (image) file.
c) Test the bin/cue file with Daemon Tools and a software VCD player such as WinDVD or PowerDVD
d) After being satisdied with the bin/cue, burn the bin/cue file with VCDEasy or Nero.
Follow the excellent guides by Sefy and Adam.
