dvd-rom locking?

Hello fellas,

I've tried to rip both an MPEG (using dvd-to-mpeg) and an AVI (using DVDx / DivX) from a DVD that is 2h:13m long.

both rips took around 5 hours. Although the programs were recognizing the full lenght of the dvd, both final MPEG and AVI had ONLY the 28 INITIAL MINUTES of the movie (???)

Does anyone know what can be going on???

are you ripping on-the-fly?? i.e. ripping and encoding small portions of the film at one time???

try using dvddecryptor or smartripper to rip the DVD to the hdd first and then work from there.
