  1. I'm wanting to convert an avi. movie file that is in widescreen format to a mpeg file using TMPGEnc. I've always just used the default settings in TMPGEnc and my files turn out ok and play on my dvd player, just that they are all fullscreen. Can someone tell me what setting I need to adjust to get the video to look widescreen as it does on my computer? Thanx.

  4. you can't use the wizard. you need to use the buttons at the bottom.

    1. browse your files (audio & video)
    2. load template you want (the one you normaly use in the wizard)
    3. load template unlock.mcf
    4. make your ajustments
    5. press start or add to batch mode

  5. If it's Super Widescreen (2.35:1 or something like that) you're going to have to frameserve your AVI from VDub and apply the resize filter to letterbox it into a 16:9 compatible resoltution. If this is the case, msg back and post your source resoltution and destination format (VCD or DVD or something), and I will help you.

  6. What's your final format? Do you want a widescreen disc or an anamorphic disc.

Remember that very few player support anamorphic SVCD/CVD, so if your final authoring product is VCD/CVD/SVCD then you'll just letter box your video and TMPGenc can do this for you no problem.

If you want to make an anamorphic DVD (or try to make an anamorphic xSVCD/xCVD) it gets a LOT tricker.
