  1. Acckkk, I'm running out of DVD-R's. I bought 200 back in October from http://www.atdiscount.com at 70 cents a piece. Would someone please share with me their findings on innexpensive (noticed how I stayed away from the word CHEAP) DVD-R's. Please comment on the reliablity if you would, I would hate to buy another 200 just to find out that 1/3 of them are coasters. Thanks.

Btw, I using the Sony DRU500A burner, thanks again

  2. RIMA.COM sells Optodiscs pretty cheap. They are about $40 for 50 of them. They work very well on my DVR-104. I have not had had any problems filling the disk to the brink. You might want to buy a single optodisc jewel case just to test it out though. Im not sure how well it would work on a sony

  3. 1X Princo for $0.74 each + CA tax

    http://www.allmediaoutlet.com/pricewatchspecial.html

they do exhibit the outer edge problem (last 80 MB, anything burned above 4400 MB)...but at least for me, it wasn't too big of a deal. however, you may wanna test on your own dvd player and find out how picky it is. my pioneer dv333 can actually play the very outter edge of these princos with no problems, but other dvd players may not fare so well...so i would advise you to test first.

  4. Why did you buy a 4X burner if you are going to use 1X media? I still don't know if burning fast vs slow (4X vs 1X) has any impact on drive life... I would just think that a 1 hour burn would be harder on the drive but that's just a guess.

I have the 500A too and couldn't stand 1X burns, I paid $1.37 with tax for 4X TDKs, just watch the best buy stores for sales.
And I see postings on here for Memorex 25 packs for $29.99

    Stray thoughts....
    Cheers
