I only tried burning menus twice, but neither time worked. I just figured my vcd player didn't support them (Napa Dav 311, but it's broken now). My friend wants me to help her burn a vcd with menus and she wants me to make a menu with this bird-type thing that flyes around, if I can't do that, she wants it to be next to the titles and when you click the down arrow, it goes to whatever one is selected. I'm not the expert at this, but from the two menus I tried, they were just thumbnails of the videos that showed what number it was, and you pressed the number to play it. Those menus didn't work, so I don't know for sure, but is it possible to do what she wants?

You can't do that with a VCD (only DVD). VCD/CVD/SVCD support menus only in theory. In reality the menu is really just another MPEG (motion or still) that is 'linked' to other MPEGs. You can use the numeric key pad, stop, play and the << >> buttons only.
So you can make a motion menu with the butterfly (or whatever) but you can't select/highlight anything with the arrow keys like a DVD. -
So I can make the bird thing move, but it would just randomly move around? Would I have to make the menu out of still images, or is there a program that lets me add the bird and make it move? I used Nero for my menus and I was told DVD Architect was good.
