Hi,
I've been using Gordian Knot and DVDX2.2. Using DVD2AVI in GK only seems to give me AC3 audio at 448 kbps, which seems a little excessive when I only want a 2 ch stereo output and I would prefer a higher video bitrate. I have not found any option in GK to use/produce an MP3 audio file.
DVDX2.2 has the option to encode at MP3 192 kbps using Lame, which seems to be what I should be using - and is quite a simple process overall, but I like GK as it seems to be very good with the resolution settings.
I gather that I can use BeSweet to convert AC3 to MP3, and then join to the AVI from GK with Nandub, but it is a longer winded process.
Any suggestions and/or preferences out there for the best solution???

It's been a while since I used Gordian Knot, but I know you can set the audio output to MP3. Maybe check doom9.org for a guide. Sorry I can't remember how to do it.

in gordian knot it converts the ac3 to mp3 with besweet, then rips the video,so you dont realy same time.
i dont like gordian knot doing the audio,i dont make many mp3 vidoes anyway.
i take the ac3 and convert to mp3 with HeadAC3he.it gives more options.
if you want to convert to a lower bitrate ac3 use besweet ac3 machine(or something like that,doom9 website is down)
