    TMPGEnc Plus Version 2.520 (2.520.54.163) July 17 2003

    Added the MPEG decoder CRI Sofdec. Now, input of MPEG-2 files is a standard feature. Plus, the picture quality (brightness, color) shown on your pc display will be close to the one on your TV. So the editing will be easier.
    *when using CRI sofdec:
    remove the check on [ Output YUV data as Basic YCbCr not CCIR601 ]
    [ Setting ] => [ Quantize matrix ] => [Output YUV data as...]
    *when using CRI sofdec, you can open a maximum of 8 sequence files as a movie.

    Fixed Made minor corrections.

    ------

    Those are the release notes for the new version. What is CRI Sofdec used for? Am I reading the above right that TMPGENC Plus now has a built in mpg2 decoder?

    Yes.

  3. Does this mean that TMPGEnc Plus v2.520 now supports YUY2 and/or YV12?

    If this is true, then I guess I can stop using ConvertToRGB24() in my AVISynth scripts as long as I make sure CRI Sofdec is set to the highest priority (correct me if I'm wrong).

    What does "open a maximum of 8 sequence files as a movie" mean and how do you do it?

    This latest version still appears to have a bug when converting to VCD NTSC Fil (23.976 fps), no matter what bitrate you choose it still converts at 1150.

    Anyone else have this problem?

    Also where can I get an earlier version (maybe just normal TMPGEnc) and where can I feedback to the authors on this problem.

    Thanks

    Here https://www.videohelp.com/tools you can found the link to TMPGenc.

    The new built in decoder means that we can finally ALL use a base for our tests. I think this new version is slighty slower previeus ones. For quality, I yet don't know, I have to test a lot to compare results and it is summer in Europe. I prefer going to the sea my free time
