  1. I have relatives in Spain and want to share both pictures and videos with them. They have a PC with CD-Rom and a combo DVD Player/TV which I am almost certain must be PAL.

I have tons of pictures and videos I want to share with them but I am unsure on what is the best format to use to do this. For the video, sHould I just author using MF2 and convert the video to PAL onto a DVD and burn it, or should I consider other formats. The pictures would fit nicely on a CD-Rom, but I am not sure if I should make a slide show or just burn the pics as data onto the CD.

The videos I will have to go with either SVCD or DVD and the original source is 8mm camcorder tapes, captured to MPEG2 using PVR-250. Any tips advice is appreciated

    Thanks

  2. For the video I would suggest using DVD as it has greater compatibility (and better quality) than SVCD. Also, try leaving it as NTSC. Most european players/TV's can handle it, even if the reverse is not true in the US.

As for the pictures, just burning them to CD (or even DVD) as data would give your relatives the best quality and the most choice in how they view them.

  3. Thank you for the prompt reply. I will go with NTSC for the video, I did not know most of the players could play it back thats good news. I think I will just go with a straight burn to CD for the pics as well.

    Cheers!
