Well, i took my driving theory test today for the first time. i wasn't looking forwared to it, because i knew that as soon as i sat down for the new hazard perception video test i'd be thinking "why the hell did they use the crappy indeo codec?!" or whatever rubbish they've been told is good.
My worst fears were realised as i sat in the chair and the video started playing, and i thought "bloody hell, that video is badly de-interlaced!!" shortly followed by "no, it's MPEG, look at the quantization errors on the road signs!" followed thereafter by "****! WHAT THE ******* **** DID THAT ROAD SIGN SAY?!?!"
i spent the rest of the test wishing they'd used a higher bit rate. actually, what made it even worse was the fact all the clips were from local roads i know well, so as well as thinking "hmm, what's behind the blocks" i was also thinking "is that the slip road in rushden?"

fortunately i managed to pass anyway, but it was close........

does anybody know if each test centre uses local clips, or if all centres use clips from where i live? (one clip you could actually see my house!)

I think all the clips are downloaded from Kazaa lite. Just kidding.
