  1. First post & first dvd burner { Sony DRU-500A }. Spent a lot of time reading thru this forum & learned alot.

For $29.99 after you wait for a rebate 25 Fuji DVD R. Including tax would make the cost about $1.37. Little bit unclear what speed these will run at. Good product??

  2. They used to come from Japan, but it seems Fuji changed vendors. Anyone bought any of these DVD's? What is the mediacode? Please share

Go to CompUSA and get theirs, 1x but burn fine at 2x for the most part. Only 1.00 each and no rebate, 10 pack with cases for $9.99.

I bought the Fuji 10 pack. I just burned Phonebooth and it plays fine on my DVD player.

  5. I took Best Buy up on their offer mainly because the Fuji DVD+R is the only media that will play on my older Toshiba 1700. I think its a great deal for +R media. I have burned only 8-10 DVDs so far with not a single problem.

I picked up some of those CompUSA/Lead Data 1x discs. They only burn at 1x in my Sony burner (2.0f firmware) but the burn quality is very, very good (better in fact than Sony's own -R media as well as TDK 2x -R). I'm probably going to pick up a few more packs before the sale is over, even though 1x burning is kinda painful. It's good to have some good, cheap discs around while I'm waiting for sales on 4X media.

  11. Friend of mine bought a pack of those and they are 2X. He was a little aggravated though, as they wouldn't play on his progressive scan JVC.

They have 10-packs of FUJI 4x on sale (made in Japan), as well as 50-spindles of FUJI 1x/2x (made in Taiwan). Browsed the discs real quick, but didn't buy any. Best deals are still online.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

I just bought some Fujifilm DVD+R from Best Buy. 25 for 29.99 after rebates. The disks look a little different than the old Fujifilm's. They are not as shiny on top.

Here is the DVD info on them:

    Media Information
    Media code/Mfr ID RICOHJPNR00
    Book Type DVD+R
    Media type DVD+R
    Max Write Speed 5.9x 8100KBps
    Write Rotation Control CLV
    Linear Density 0.267um/bit
    No of Layers 1

I haven't made any DVD's with them yet so no coments for now.
Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........

  20. The Fujifilm DVD+R 25-packs from Best Buy is made by Ricoh, Mfg. code RICOHJPN R00, made in Taiwan. Its speed is 2.4x. The Maxwell DVD+R 5-packs from Staples has the same code and speed. I had burned 30 of them with the Sony 500A without any problems.
