  1. I am trying to put music on de timeline or storyboard in pinnacle studio 8 but this does not work for me.

Wat i am trying to do is: play a clip with the music i want (a few minutes of music). The clip is in the album above. I want to record only the music from that clip for a few seconds and add it to the timeline on the beginning for that film.

Is it possible? or must i use another program?

You shouldn't need another program. If you already have the music in a .wav or .mp3 file (which you do if it's in the music album), just click on the music file and drag it down to the timeline.

If the music is in a video clip, then drag that video clip down to the timeline, lock out the video part of the timeline, highlight the soundtrack and copy it, then open the project where you want to add the music and paste it in the timeline.

If you only want part of the music you can edit it on the timeline before you cut it from the original video or after you paste it into the new video.

  3. Thanks,

But how do i "lock out the videoclip" and how do i "copy the soundtrack?

The soundtrack is indeed in a videoclip. I already tried copy and paste but then i see a small line by the sound line but it doesn't play sound.

  4. I remember doing this once:
on the left side of the timeline, there is a "lock" symbol for each of the track (video, audio, etc..). Just click on it, and the track will be grayed out.

Which version of Studio 8 do you have? If you have the version that's packaged with some DVD writers then you don't have the full version and may not be able to lock out the video track. If you have the full version then just click on the little symbol just to the left of the video track.

Another way to do it would be to use Goldwave or another audio editor to capture and edit the sound. Save that sound (either as a .wav or .mp3), then open that file in Studio and drag it down to the music track.
