  1. i converted a movie recently to svcd format (25 fps if it matter) i did so in two parts. part one worked flawlessly--audio and video perfectly synched. ive now converted part two three times and each time the audio is many seconds ahead of the video. why would this be the case?? part 1 & 2 came from the exact same AVI file. any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. oh and other details: i converted each after having extracted the audio into wav format, using the tmpg wizard (PAL SVCD) with vbr encoding (their respective bitrates were 1600 and 1800, but taht shouldnt matter) the only box checked under 'advanced' was 'source range' HELP!

I'm not sure of your source, maybe there's a bad frame in part two? Did you check?

Also..Is it out of sync the same amount all the way or does it start in sync then get progressively worse?

    Here's a guide.

Be sure to use the original avi and extract the audio to wav only after deleting the bad frames.

    Good luck! 8)

  5. Have you extracted the audio with virtualdub and converted it to uncompressed .wav and tried to use this file as the audio source for the second disk? Some DivX / Xvid have VBR on the sound and if you try to convert from the middle of the video you will get sync problems.
