  1. Here's one that I must be missing. I have converted a 90 minute avi file (old 70's sci-fi) and when it is finished as svcd I have to split the finished product onto more than 1 disc. I have been using MF2 to split and burn and now have a sync issue almost from the get go. I have done smaller ones (25-30 mins.) with TMPG and had no problems. Is there a way to split encode it into segments that will stay in synch when I burn them? I am using a Pavillion with Win XP, 786 RAM and a Philips cdr/rw/dvd drive. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The first sugestion would be to use VirtualDub to save the audio track as uncompressed .WAV file. Then use that file as the audio source in TMPGenc.

You may also want to encode the two halves seperatly because splitting may introduce problems.

  3. Forgot to mention that before my bad, I have been also using virtualdub to extract the audio. Should I be encoding the video separately from the audio wav? And how is this done in TMPG?

I always avoid splitting mpegs, too many sync problems.

Either split the avi beforehand with Vdub or use the Source Range function in TMPGEnc to select which part of the clip to encode first then use the batch encode function to do the second (or third) part as well.
