  1. Hi guys,
I have much successful in converting divx movies to VCD with subtitles using TMPGEnc and vitualdub. When i convert the divx files to VCD, the quality is ok. However, when i try to convert Xvid files to VCD, i get this pink or orange colors on the VCD files. The source files are fine and this only happens when i convert xvid files. This problem is pretty much similar to when you play xvid without the xvid codecs, but instead you get the blue blocks, i get pink blocks....I don't know if i make any senses here! Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. thanks....

P.S. I am using windows XP, AMD Durron 701 Mhz, 831 MB Ram and 80 gig hard drive.

  2. Hm... Blocks?

    Please tell me more:

    1. Subtitles are in the same directory as the movie file with the same name?

    2. Have you tried converting them to Divx in VDUB then try VCD?

    3. Have you tried all the XVID Codec builds? Some may not work with your PC.

  3. Hi there,
Thanks for your reply. I have no problem and the quality is acceptable when i tried and converted Divx Movies to VCD, also i have no problem converting Xvid to VCD. The only problem is the VCD files that are converted from Xvid movies have bad quality, even i still can watch it. The pink color i mentioned above didn't block any of my movies, but it gave the movie kind of faded color in some parts. It's like you're trying to play with the color adjustment or something even though the source files are working fine.

P.S: I convert the movies i'v downloaded from intenet and the subtitles are working fine, there's no problem with that. The only problem is the color of the VCD files. Peace!!!

  5. Only thing I can think of is uninstall any codec packs you have .. ie, Nimo, etc.. and only put on the Xvid and DivX codecs by themselves..

get a stable Xvid codec from here ...

also maybe try increasing the priority of the directshow filter in TMPGenc.

  6. Hi there, thanks for you reply.
I tried and uninstalled Nimo Codec, FFdshow, and xvid codec from my computer. Then, I install the Xvid you gave me the link above and the Divx 3.0 Codec. Now I can't even play divx files. I saw the problems in the link you gave me. THat's the problem i'm having. The movie has pink color on it. But I tried to follow the solution, but the problem still remaining. I check the file and i realize that not xvid files i'm having problem with as i said above, I have problem with the file with divx_311 file and MPEG-4 (Low-Motion). Do you have any solutions for my problem? Thanks and by the way, where can i find MPEG-4 (Low-Motion) codec? I searched on google but didn't seem to find it. Thanks again. Peace@@!!!

    Try this link http://www.divxmovies.com/codec/

MPEG-4 (low motion) codec is contained within DivX 3.11alpha codec. That link also contains Xvid codec. Use GSpot or MovieType to check what kind of codec your source truly is. Look at FourCC, is it XVID, DIV3, or DIV4?
