  1. I went to the below link and read everything how to make DVD-9 to one recordable DVD methods. It is confusing for beginner.

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/141024.php#dvd5ordvd9

I would like to know if anyone used anyof those methods and which one was successful. Please let me know which is the best one. If it is possible I would like to keep it to one DVD not multiple DVDs.

    Thanks

  2. There is no 'best' method to back one a DVD9 disc to one DVDR disc. Some are easier than others, some give better quiality then others, some are faster than others, etc. etc.

That guide is pretty complete. It list the major choices: Instant Copy, DVD2One and DVD Shrink. A new verison of DVD Shrink (2.3) is out (http://www.doom9.org). DVD Shrink is the only freeware program in the group. Many people think that DVD2One gives better quality than DVD Shrink, I think they look about the same. IC gives the best quaility but is much slower.

If you're a total newbie and want a 'one stop/click program' and don't want to pay. Go with DVD Shrink. There are up todate guides at doom9. If you don't mind spending some money then DVD2One might be a better choice.

If you want the best quaility, read the guides for doitfast4u/docce4u (basically re-encode with CCE and then re-author). But you said you wanted easy, which the above is not

can you use this method or any re-encoding method to do a full disk backup...(i.e. keeping the menus, extras, etc...) or just of the main movie files

  4. You can also use DVD X Copy Xpress. It's not free but guarantees to fit any movie to one disc. And it's not free either, it costs around $70.00. But I think it's worth it. I have used it many times and it produces an exact copy of the original movie. Perfect Quality!!
