  1. I download this Xvid movie now when i convert it to mpg i got video but the audio sounds more like a echo and at the end of the movie its sounds more like donald duck ! anny help on this is welkom thx.

    Do you have proper XVID codecs?
    What did use for encoding?
    Are you doing VCD or SVCD
    etc

  3. Got divx 3.1, 4.11, 5.2 and xvid dont no the version of that, and i use TMPGEnc 2.511.51.160 free version to encode it to ntsc 16:9 525 line vcd.

  4. Did you try extracting the audio as a WAV first before encoding?

  5. No i never do that all the avi's i done before came out fine exept one's but that whas because i dit not had that sound codec, so you think its best to extract the sound furst and encode only the video later

    No...you extract the audio with Virtualdub:
    https://www.videohelp.com/virtualdubaudio.htm

    Open the AVI as usual in TMPGEnc.......
    Then using the extracted WAV as your audio source in TMPGEnc.

  7. according to the virtualdubaudio guide to save the audio file u 1st check from the file information to see whether the file is 2 channel or 5 channel.
    but the file i have doesnt show me the channel.
    it only says : format :44KHz stereo, 128Kbps layer 2
    # of frames :152636
    total size :62301k

    so .. wat do i do then .?

    It sounds like you were checking the encoded MPEG.
    Open up the original AVI in Virtualdub (if you did this....then I don't think the original is an XVID AVI....its already an MPEG
