I have backed up many region 2 movies using either DVD2ONE, IC7, DVDShrink etc, Recently I have backed up a few region 1 DVD's. They seem to come out jerky, skipping a frame approximately every second. Now I know there is a difference between PAL & NTSC frame rates, but I was wondering if there is any way around this?. The originals play back perfectly, so it seems it is the compressing/encoding causing the problem. Can anyone shed any more light on this please?
cheers

Sorry, no answer only sympathy! I started capturing/converting some months ago with downloaded freeware and made some good movies that played on my PC. Since then have bought PowerDirector pro 2.55 and all my SVCDs and VCDs have this momentary "pause" every second when played on my samsung DVD player. It may be a dropped frame (what ever they look like) but it just turns slow smooth sweeping action in to a series of jerks! Also my audio sync. is off by 1.5 secs. I think it may be the disk authoring which causes the problem as the master MPEG played on the PC appears fine. Most of my attempts have been with converted DivXs (aren't they region free?) to MPEG2. But I do live in a PAL_I area.(UK)
Good hunting!
