  1. Just wondering - how many of you have digital service where picture routinely freezes? Especially on some channels I have a severe freeze problem, like IFC. It's a real problem during unattended captures, so I came up with a tool that is supposed to detect freezes for me when I am not able to monitor it myself.

Just recently, I was capturing the special ed. of Aliens, when I had a NASTY hang-up at almost the very END! Two hours of my life wasted. That's when I decided to do something about it. Anyways, guys, if you are interested, I can release it for you. If not, I will not bother making it suitable for public release. I am not good at math and calculus, so the algorithm is pretty simple, but when the setup is right - it works. I can include the source so you can fool around with the math function if you know what you are doing. The rest is done for you. I still can't believe I managed to do something remotely functional in just two days! Most of the time was wasted on figuring out how to convert AVI frames to BMP's. That was a bitch. The rest was quite fun!

I called the app, get this, AVI Anti-Friz

What does it do exactly? Tell you in a log file, filter it out magically, or something else? Would be nice for DSS as well as digital cable.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

  3. Just info collector. It shows all possible freeze points in a list. You can click on the point in the list and the embedded player navigates to that point automatically, so you can check it.

Filtering out would not work since often the sound does not freeze with the picture, and that was not my intent at all.
