I trying to re-encode a divx to DVD. I have done this and the mpeg play fine but I do have a few Q. which i hope someone can clear up

1. I am using DVD as the output media source so size of the mpeg2 isn't much of a problem so what is the best bitrate to re-enode with. At the mo I am setting vbr multi pass and using a bit rate of min 2000 Max 8000 max average 6000 (Is this ok the result are quite good a little grainy however I would like better and I know the source is of high quality)

2. Once converted I add the video (around 1 gb) to movie fact 2 which then want to re-encode it again (it estimate the new encoding to be 4.2 gb) however in avi2svcd I chose a valid dvd frame size and chose the dvd complaint check box. How can I solve this there must be a way to re-encode it the first time as dvd Compliant.

I have also tried this in tmpenc with the same results

Can anyone give me a helping hand?
