  1. Be gentle... first time post here...

I have a bunch of jpeg pictures of my kid I'd like to share with my family via VHS tapes. I don't have a television card in/out for the pc, but I used this as an excuse to convince my wife to buy a cheap DVD player (Apex 1500). I thought maybe we could create a VCD of the pictures and then play them in a just-purchased DVD player and record to VHS tape.

I am concerned that anti-piracy mechanisms will force me to return this unopened DVD player. Apparently DVD's have anti-piracy features like macrovision to thwart easy dvd-to-vhs copying. Will macrovision or some other anti-piracy feature put me in the dog-house with da wife?

    Thank you!

  2. Well first, yes you can make a 'VCD Slide Show' of your pictures. Take a look to the left under 'Author | Photo Album.' Second, macrovision as to be added to the disc, your VCD won't have it so you can make a copy HD -> VCD -> VHS. However, if your friends/family have either a DVD player or a computer I would:

    1) Just send them the JPEG pics on CDR
    2) Send them the VCD
