hi
not sure if this is the right place to post or if anyone can help but here goes. i have an old video tape (about 10 years old) that im going to put on to disc but before i do i want to try and clean it up a bit, the colours a bit faded and the picture its self looks a bit blured now, is there any way to improve the pic before i burn it to disc. iv done a few searches here and cant find any info so if any of you guys now how to do this or can point me to a site that has any info id be well pleased.
thanks in advance.

Of course, your video quality cannot be improved very much more than its source. Anyway, you can keep the quality from degrading as much as possible by following this guide. It was written by a Dazzle card user, but the TMPGEnc settings will still help you. Hope it helps.

rule #1 - don't get your hopes up.
rule #2 - decide before you start how much time and effort you want to put into it, and how much of an improvement you can realistically expect. That way you don't spend a large chunk of time chasing something that can't be achieved.
check this thread - https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=164765 - it's got some good links to info about cleaning up video.- housepig
