dv to DVD

Hi,

Is there any good software out there which will convert my DV captures to DVD and still retain the original quality.

what i mean is i tried different softwares to convert the captured avi's to DVD format, but non match the quality of the original captured avi.

Only windvdcreator plus has the best quality compared to the other.

is there any software / guide available which can convert / help to convert an capture DV into a high quality DVD.

any help would be high appreciated.

Have you tried TMPGEnc, remember than when encoding there will always be some quality loss however minimal.

main concept encoder does a great job on dv files ...

as mentioned -- so does tmpegenc ..

simpledvd will go directly from the dv avi file to the vob structure to burn

You might want to check out Procoder from Canopus. Excellent product, but it is a little pricey. There is a trial version available from their site.

Just about to test every option available on the planet over the next 2 weeks as I've just got myself & DV camcorder & I'm having a similar problem with quality....

What codec are you using ?
& What format are you using PAL or NTSC ?

a dv codec only maters if you are re-encoding INTO DV again ..

DV to MPEGx -. it doesnt mater what codec you have installed ...

though which codec you use for de-compression may alter the image on your screen (it should not and i have not heard of that being an issue) ..
