  1. I burned a formula one race with Nerovision Express but there is no sound when i play it om my standalone. The race was captured with Inno DV 2800 and I used the default DVD template when I made the mpeg. Sound was set at 48KHz. There is of course sound when I play it on the PC (Elecard mpeg player).

I might add that I captured a movie with slightly other settings and sound at 44.1KHz and it worked.

Isn't 48KHz standard and if not why the hell is it set to that on DVD default!? I just wasted a disc

Could anyone please clear this up?

  2. How is your sound encoded ? Mpeg or LPCM ? And what is your stand-alone DVD expecting ? Some (all?) stand alone players will not output LPCM sound when they are setup for Bitstream/DTS output. Mine does not (Samsung DVD-P421).

  3. Uhm I actually don't know how to check I couldn't find any software to do it with besides AVIcodec which said: Audio : 0.0 B, 0 Kbps, 0 Hz, 2 chan., 0x53 = Unknown [0xc0], Supported

This must be wrong since the original mpeg2 works just fine.

The thing is that it worked with 44.1KHz but that's the sampling rate right? It has nothing to do with format if I Understand correctly.

I was just wondering if either (44.1 and 48.0) is regarded as "DVD standard" If 48.0 is not then thats funny that the default DVD template in DV-2800 player is set to 48.0.

I tried to switch settings on my Standalone a Cyberhome AD-L 528 but that didn't help.
