Ok, I am ripping with DVD Decrypter, encoding with DVD Shrink and burning with IMG Tool.
I have burned over 50 DVD's with this method and it has worked great.
But...
For some reason when I try to burn The Godfather, I get a burn fail error about 15 minutes into burnning. When I burn it to a DVD-RW it has no problems but when I try to burn to DVD-R, I get the error.
Any ideas?
Getting frustrated![]()
Thanks for the help guys.

I did The Godfather just last week (R4) using only DVD Shrink and didn't have a problem....although due to the length of the movie you would be better off either splitting over 2 dvd-r's or re-encode using cce or tmpgenc. I get a lot of macroblocks...especially in the wedding scene (lots of trees and moving people and stuff)....however it will only be played on a 52cm TV so it isn't that noticable....but if you are aiming for a larger or better quality screen, 2 dvd's is the go.
Back to your original question though...I had no problem burning it after 'DVD Shrink'ing it."Weekends don't count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless."

Bartman, what are you using to burn?
What exactly are macro blocks? Is that like pixelation? -
I use Nero. I create a new DVD-ROM UDF/ISO project and manually create the VIDEO_TS folder. I also check that all non-standard ISO crap is turned off on the ISO tab (ISO level 1 with ISO 9660 character set...joliet turned off) and I use UDF Physical partition, version 1.02 on the UDF tab. I use a pioneer 104.
Macroblocks are where you can see the compression....like a really bad jpeg.

forgot to mention....that pic I uploaded was just an illustration. It is a frame grab from a scene on the extras disk but I poped it into PSP and saved it as a jpec with 75% compression added. The original frame didn't look anywhere near as bas as that (which came from a DVD shrink'd DVD)
It could be confused with pixelation however it is just the compression blocks becomming visible due to lack of data. Each block isn't a solid colour, which is what you would get if it was pixelation....also, if it was pixelation, then the smallest thing you could see would be the size of a pixel....which isn't the case in the image I uploaded.
Try it yourself...load a nice BMP into a paint program and save it as a heavily compressed JPG....then compare the difference."Weekends don't count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless."
