Minitek dvd-1600 Smart Navi

Well...it seems no matter what program I use or how its authored this player refuses to play SVCD dics. I have tried the following programs:

Alcohol 120%
DVDit
Nero (w/ svcd plugin)
Ulead Video Studio

The player is the newer version....i've checked that also. When the svcd disc is inserted it just goes directly to the smart navi menu. Just like for everybody else, it won't play the SVCD file if you go directly to the file (really choppy and eventual lockup).

I've tried making my own SVCD mpegs and using those and already preauthored ones, both with the same result.

Somebody please help!

try using the vcdheader trick, that should do it. in fact, let me know how it goes, i'm actually thinking about getting a mintek-1600 cause they are so cheap, and i want to know if the vcdheader trick will work for it.

by headertrick, you mean using tmpegenc? I tried that and it plays the video now, but its stop/start the whole way through and the video extends beyond the edges of the screen. So it didn't work

Any other ideas?
