I'm a highly experienced computer user, but am new to copying DVD movies. I"ve made plenty of my own however. I've tried DVD X Copy express...at least the trial version, and here DVD X Copy is good..but I'm looking for something I can make more than one copy of any given movie with. THis forum brought me to the best Mpg Encoder...so I'm hoping it can do the same for me as far as finding the best program to do what I"m looking for. I'd prefer a program that would let me keep the movie, the main audio track ( enhanced DTS etc.) and possibly chapters...other than that, I could careless what gets on the disk.
THanks for any help!

You may want to start with either DVDShrink, DVD2ONE, or one of the CCE methods. All should do what you want. -
If I want to fit a dual layer DVD on a single layer DVD recordable then I usually use DVD2ONE. It can do movie only back-ups or full-disk backups. Either way you can keep all of the audio and/or subtitle streams or select just want you want/need. DVD2ONE is pay software but the price is reasonable (about $40 USD) and I'm very happy with it.
Another program that I think is way kewl is DVDFab. This program is still somewhat new but the last BETA version I used (BETA 3) seemed to finally be working pretty good. This program is like DVDXCOPY in that it will retain 100% quality by splitting the original dual layer DVD out over 2 DVD recordable discs. This way you get everything that is on the original with no quality loss.
Both DVD2ONE and DVDFab create a VIDEO_TS folder as the end result. I then use ImgTool (Classic Version) to create an IMAGE file and then burn the IMAGE file with DVD Decrypter. You can delete ALL files except the IMAGE file and burn as many DVD discs from that single IMAGE file you want. Then when you are done simply delete the single IMAGE file.
You could try DVDSHRINK which works similiar to DVD2ONE but like DVDFab it is a free program. However I've never had problems with DVD2ONE nor have I really heard anyone having problems using it. The same cannot be said for DVDSHRINK.

*** EDIT ***
DVDFab will of course create two VIDEO_TS folders ... one for each disc. So you will end up with two IMAGE files ... one for each disc. Just wanted to make that clear since it wasn't above."The eyes are the first thing that you have to destroy ... because they have seen too many bad things" - Lucio Fulci
