According to a e-mail that I just received today from Canopus sales the first shipment of the MPEGPRO MVR & MPEGPRO EMR's have just arrived in their warehouse yesterday. Hopefully their resellers should be seeing some product soon.

These sound like GREAT products. I really mean that. They are (to the best of my knowledge) the only real-time mpeg2 capture devices (for computers) that have features so far only seen in stand alone DVD recorders. I'm talking about the built-in adaptive 3D comb filter and TBC.

Unfortunately ... one can buy a stand alone Panasonic DVD recorder (with those features) for around $400 to $500 which is less than the MSRP of the MVR (don't know much about the EMR).

oddly enough - one of those units only captures at 44.1khz though they say its for dvd use .. maybe a misprint ..

it also says it supports I frame only -- which is rather odd .. not to clear in thier specs --

but canopus puts out good products ... these will be good for some people but not for pro use (rca unbalanced audio and Y/C input only) ..
