  1. Any suggestions for the best/cheapest 4x DVD-R to get? I've seen the list floating around here of successful/unsuccessful burns, but those are mostly at 2x. I'm using the Apple Superdrive DVD RW DW-U10A, made by Sony. I have my birthday coming up, so I'm looking for my family to get me a spindle hopefully. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Look to your left. under the "OTHER" heading on the left, there is "DVD MEDIA"

    Check it out.

    EXACTLY what you're looking for.

I used to be a ritek 1X guy, but when the price skyrocketed past 1.50 per, i started to use the ritex 1X-2X-4X media, which is just as great and reliable, only .40 more at about 1.90 (i think) seemed like a lot at the time, as I was buying hundreds, but in the end, burning a DVD in 20 minutes is just too convenient to argue with.

We might have said this about CD-R's (2x or 4x ect) many years ago. It will be cool when DVD-R will burn in a few minutes like CD-rs of today!!!
