    Hi,

Is this for your personal use??? If so then don't worry about it. If your doing it as a favor for a friend ask them. But if your doing this to sell on ebay thats against copyright as you are not selling the originals.

Please add a little more detail if I'm missing the mark on what your trying to do.

Personally I don't care one way or another about credits. If there missing I can always go to www.imdb.com and look somebody up.

Well ... why don't YOU ask YOUR friend what HE thinks about it ?

    Personally I couldn't give a bat's clacker about credits.
    If in doubt, Google it.

depends what the credits are like and whether you need to know the names of everyone who worked on it.

obviously for completeness sake it's better to have them - i'd prefer them personally. if they're always the same you can probably get away with just one episode having them in good quality, and the rest being truncated as you can "rescue" it later if you need to. If they change often, or every time, then it's better to always have them.

particularly if it's got unique theme music at the end (...and start) or pictures behind the credits rather than just blackness or a rather plain pattern.

for example if someone tried to remove the credits from my cities of gold files they'd find their gonads on the end of a branding iron, as apart from the "changing every time" criterion they fill all the other requirements - unique music and animations that happen behind/around the creds that add something to the feel of the show as a whole. whereas, so long as i had the mp3, the text list of the names, and stillframes of the small pictures accompanying the credits on the end of cowboy bebop (and maybe a low quality encode of the whole thing) i could probably live with them being chopped as really, they're nothing too special, but if necessary the materials would be at hand to ressurect it. nice song and all, but once you've seen those names scroll by once you've seen it all.

edit: like you could happily toss the credits to a lot of hollywood films, where it's just blackness and text with rather rubbish music, but you wouldn't dare cut them off ferris bueller's day off, pretty much any studio ghibli / pixar / jackie chan film, etc..... depends on the situ and just how much megabytage you're trying to shave off the file / seconds off the compilation vcd/vhs.

Open / End Credits count for collectors. Especially for Warner Brothers cartoons: Collectors hate the B.R. open credits
