pal and ntsc

Some of the films i get in divx, i want to put them onto dvd, but most of them i get need to be changed into pal, once converted to mpeg pal, in TMPGEnc, the picture seems to be stretched, like some scenes the people have long heads, or it seems magnified in some way, is there any way to stop this from happening, it only happens to the divx avi files i get, thanx in advance for any help...

Under setting make sure you select to maintain aspect ratio, otherwise widescreen videos will be streched vertically to full screen res.
