I have Adaptec Firewire card with 4 ports, will it be compatible with Canopus ADVC 100 ?

It will probably work. I have an Adaptec DuoConnect (1394 + USB 2.0) and it works fine. Supposedly the ADVC-100 has some problems with Texas Instruments 1394 chipsets, but the DuoConnect has a TI chipset and it works really well. Some people claim that the problem was only with the older LV23 chipset, while the Adaptec cards (at least the DuoConnect and the FireConnect 4300) use the newer LV26.
