I just grabbed the hacked Pioneer A05 firmware 1.33 (RPC-1, 2x on Ritek G03, and unlocked ripping speeds). I upgraded from hacked 1.30 (RPC-1 and 2x on Ritek G03). Does anyone know if having the unlocked ripping speeds will be bad on the drive? As in cause it to die or burn out quicker? Just wondering if their are any negative aspects of it. It'd be nice to have quicker ripping speeds but not at the cost of a $300 drive.

i think using the hacked version will not do any more damage than you are already doing by just ripping. I like to use my burner just for burning. I use the ROM for ripping.
