I have an Xvid file. The file information displayed in VDub says it is 25fps, 161372 frames (1:47:34). In TMPGEnc is says the file is 30fps, 193645 frames (1:47:34). What's going on?

I am having probs convert to mpg for VCD creation. Mainly this revolves around sync, and also causing TMPGEnc crashing. I used Vdub MP3 and found 1040 bad frames.

I too have problems with TMPGEnc and Xvid files, here is my work around solution:

If you have lots of room on your HD, use VirtualDub and save the file in a lossless format such as Huffy. Then load that file into TMPGEnc.

    Hope this helps.

    1. Make sure you have the HuffyUV codec installed.

    2. Load the file into VDub.

    3. Select Video - Compression - HuffyUV v2.1.1

    4. Save file as AVI.

HuffyUV is a lossless codec that produces a file roughly 10GB per hour.
