It's great that Nero 5.5 has a built-in avi to mpg encoder, but is it any good?
I normally use TMPGenc, but find I have trouble with big files... Nero seems to handle them fine but has anyone done any comparisons?
Your opinions please.

One limitation of the MPEG2 plugin is that the aspect ratio of a movie is only preserved, if the source movie has 4:3 aspect ratio, see my comment here. I suppose that the same applies when using the built-in MPEG1 encoder.
