  1. Hi everybody,

I'm sorry for bothering you with annoying questions but I was unable to find the answers on the FAQ.

I've recently bought a Philips DVDR880 recorder and I've copied on a DVD+R an old VHS tape (HQ quality). I connected the VCR player to the DVDRecorder via SCART (no other way, the DVDR has no digital in). I've recorded and finalize the DVD+R with no hassles. At least, this is what it seemed...

    Here are the questions:
    1) although I've recorded all in the same title (and I see only one title on the menu), when I play it on a different DVD player I can go back and forth on 4 titles (only #1 and #3 really working). Still the menu has only one title. I can't understand how this can be possible and, more, whether this could decrease the quality overall (maybe decreasing the bit rate to let space for the other titles?!?)

    2) when I've tried to make a copy of the DVD+R (using a Sony DVD burner for PC), I always got an error at the end of reading (28 sectors): it happened twice with 2 different DVD+Rs exactely at the same moment (around 100% of reading). Is there some incompatibility between these DVD+Rs and the rest of the world? Is it a menu problem? How can I fix it?

    3) what about the general quality of the recording? I mean, if I could choose between this method and capturing through a Pinnacle board and burning a DVD using ULead (or similar), what should I choose?

I'm sorry once again if these answers were already done and I thank everybody in advance for any help

    Riccardo
