  1. ok i'm extremely new to dvd ripping and authoring so heres where i stand. so far i've ripped the dvd using smart ripper, used dvd2avi to make the vob files readable for tmpgenc, used tmpgenc to encode my files to mpeg made for svcd in ntsc format. my question is why is it that my audio and video arent in sync when i use ntsc format but when i convert into pal everything is synced but i dont like the aspect ratio that pal uses, it looks too 'smushed' from the left and right sides. i've tried using goldwave to sync the audio but its hard to get it dead on. if anyone could give me some help as to what exactly i'm doing wrong and how i could get my a/v synced in ntsc format i would be greatly relieved. thanks

  2. Use dvdx to make your mpeg file. after you rip the dvd with smartripper. dvdx can make video cd mpeg 1 file, super video cd mpeg 2 file or just a straight avi file. i used dvdx and the audio stayed in sync fine for me. here is a link to get it: http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/dvdx.html
