Does anyone have the Pioneer DV-636D (and DV-646) firmware

Does anyone out there have access to or have the firmware for this player?
I would like to have the firmware for experimental purposes.

Does anyone have the service cable for Pioneer? What is it good for?
Can you only patch the player to become region free or can you actually upgrade the firmware totally through it?
I'm not very interested in buying it at the moment since it's quite costy unless it shows to be very useful.
(My player came region free from the store anyway)

Oh, and does anyone have a hi-res pic of the Pioneer DV-636D board?

Hmm... no one have sent or posted anything?
Is DV-636 a not so popular player or is it impossible/very difficult to read out the firmware?

I have been looking around for a device that can read the firmware ROM, but they are pretty expensive and they are pretty hard to find.

Some of the reasons I wanna have a look at the firmware is because I want to see if SVCD support can be implemented for this player.

I know a thing or two about programming and debugging, so I should be able to find at least something worth taking a look at in the firmware if I got my hands on it.
