  1. When writing to a dvd+rw for the second time my standalones(KOSS kd260 and PS2) are pretty much useless at playing the discs (HP dvd+rw). Is anyone else having the same trouble? JVC has a player out that states is DVD+RW compatible so I may need to upgrade, but my current drives play +R's fine same with +RW's the first time they are written to. I guess it would be a trade off in saving money buying disc's if I buy a new player, but the price of discs are falling so...

  2. NEC 1100 probably supports bisetting.
Use DVD BitSetter to write DVD+RW in DVD-ROM specification.
It helped me to solve the same problem.

I could be wrong, but I think the NEC 1100 is one of the models that specifically does NOT support bitsetting (along with the very popular Sony DRU-500A, by the way). I'm pretty sure there have been threads on this in the forums at dvdplusrw.org.

FYI, all the current Sony DVD players specifically list +R/RW and -R/RW support. I just got their low end one (the 325, I think...the ninety-nine dollar one), and it works fine with everything I've tried.
