  1. Ok Guys I got this movie and what the problem is... It is in PAL i convert it everything is fine the size just doubles... Then I have to do the VCD header trick... So its really messed up i try to burn it and it says its too big... Now i always thought vds were by minutes!? Please help me out guys i would really appreciate it

    does the size double when you convert it from avi to mpg?

    kind of. when you stick to the standard, you can fit 80 minutes on a 80 minute disc. but when you drift away, which it sounds like you have, you can only fit about 800 MB.

  4. it is originally a PAL SVCD then convert that to NTSC and then header trick. Like when it is NTSC i can do it

    it is not a vcd. the resolution is 480x480. vcd is 352x240. what is the bitrate you used? cuz your file is more than a gig. an 80 minute cd can only hold 800MB.

  6. It looks like your 55min SVCD has been re-encoded at the max bitrate for SVCD's (2450kbit/s ish).

    You need to re-encode at approx 1700kbit/s to fit your 55min movie on 1x80min CD

  7. OK well i reencode with TMPGENC i just do the default things how would i re encode the way u guys suggest?

    no. just that 480x480 is not vcd resolution. if your player can play it at that reolution, then there's no problem. to make the file smaller, you're going to have to encode with a lower bitrate.
