  1. Dear All,

Instead of converting all movie files to VCD/DVD, I watch all my downloaded movies by connecting my laptop (Svideo + audios) to my TV. When I played movie files with .mpeg, .avi, .wmv using Media Player, I am able to get full screen movie on my TV; however, when I try to play files with .rm using RealPlayer, my TV doesn't show anything at all?

IS there a software I have to use in order to let whatever played in Realplayer to display on my TV in full-screen?

    Please advise.

    Thanks,
    SKY

  2. Argghgh! Real Mud... ahem, Media is about the most pernicious vile (and yes, I meant vile not file) format out there.

I *strongly* suggest you convert all RM files -- here's a link to a terrific convertor http://www.eo-video.com/

Let's stamp out RM for once and for all!

  3. So, are you suggesting me to convert .rm files to .wmv or .mpeg files?

    thanks.

  4. I'd actually convert them to MPEG4, one of the best formats out there, but anything's better than RM.

The program pointer I gave you will work for a free trial period (um, I think it's fourteen days but I don't remember now). Convert your RM to a couple of different formats to see what you like best.

  5. Just downloaded the software and converting one .rm file. Do you use the default settings when converting or ur own settings? Want to see which combinations are best...share ur experience if u would...

    thanks.

  6. I was converting for different purposes (not to play on my computer), so I didn't use the default settings when I finally settled on what I wanted (I wanted to burn some VCDs with some RM video, so I converted to MPEG4 with NTSC type settings. It plays much smoother on a VCD than the default settings, but it takes much longer to perform the conversion).

But do play and find out what works for you -- once you've settled on something good you can save it as your own default.
