  1. HI all.

I am a newbie in this area; so far I managed to use DVD Shrink for some movie backups, but this looks like a major project. I read some guides but they all look quite difficult

Can someone point me to a good - and preferably easy - guide how to back up tv series. I understand I can put a few episodes on each disk, but then menus won't work
I don't care how many discs I need, I would like to keep menus and extras too. Can this ALL be done in Shrink?

    Thanks.

  2. i believe DVD X Copy Platinum can backup episodic dvds. I never used it so don't take my word for it, but the website says that the program can do it with no problem.

  3. Damn straight you can

    http://www.triuneweb.com/sites/lordsmurf-com/dvdcopy/shrink/dvdshrink.htm

He goes through a specific example of doing an episode (TV) disc.

The gist of it if you know how to use shrink at all is you basically take the 4 episodes on a disc (or 6 or whatever) and do 2 with no compression to make 1a, then the last 2 you do with still images to make them very small. Then for disc 1b, you still the first 2 episodes and make the last 2 uncompressed.

Now, I say uncompressed, but there's still a chance you'll need compression.. but it'll probably be miniscule so you'd likely not notice. All menus intact, all good quality, just on 2 discs instead of 1.

  5. Are Looney Tunes doable this way?

When I open a disc, it gives me not a list of titles, but only one line that says Title 1-15, 21-23. Am I doing something wrong or is this set special in some way?

I downloaded DVD Copy Platinun trial version but it tells me that "this program doesn't support duplication of copy-protected content".

What program do I need for Looney Tunes (preferably free )?
