I am looking for literature on the different types of audio for DVD's. I looked on the site guides and a bit in the forums, but did not see anything for me.
What I am specifically looking for answer for is the following...
AC3, what is it? What are the advantages/disadvantages? etc.
What are some other types? What the advantages/disadvantages?
Links to guides or posts would be perfect.
Thanks!

AC3 was created by Dolby. For more information than you could ever want on the format, including how it compares with other audio formats, check out www.dolby.com.
There is a very good synopsis of all the supported audio formats in DVD in the DVD Demysitifed FAQ.
Check out heading 3.6.
