Here's a really wierd one:
A friend gave me a CD with an AVI (XVID) file. After installing the XVID codec, I can play the avi. I want to use the AVI to make a DVD for my DVD player. However, I can't copy the avi file to the hard drive. Apparently, somewhere near the end of the avi there is a CRC error. When copied to the HD (and receiving the error), the avi file appears on my hard drive, but I can't play it because of "Corrupt Media File".
It seems if I can play the file from the CD, I should be able to copy the file to the hard drive or somehow "Play the avi" to the hard drive. Any ideas?
