I'm planning on buying a DVD-R/RW burner and would like to know the advantages and disadvantages of DVD X Copy Express and DVD Shrink. My brother uses Express and I don't see any differnce betwwen the original and the copy. Will I get the same results from Shrink? Does Shrink offer the same type of compression as Express? I'm leaning toward Shrink (which I'll be using with Nero). If push comes to shove i'm willing to do without some extras like the fullscreen version, DTS, foriegn dialogue and depending on the movie, docs, trailers, deleted scenes/bloopers & music videos. Any reply will be appreciated.

  2. DVDshrink is free so just try it using a DVD+RW media disc and see if you like it. Also DVDX Xpress only backs up the movie but DVDshrink will backup the entire original DVD including extras and menu. I use both programs depending on what I think will work best for the DVD I'm backing up.

Exactly you have nothing to lose testing it out so give it a shot. Just remember if you do decide to backup everything you will lose quality for it.

The price of Shrink is hard to beat. I have plenty of time before I buy my burner so i'm sure i'll be leaning back & forth between the 2 programs before then.

  5. Use DVDShrink, for now. Save your money until DVDXCopy Platinum is available. You won't regret it.
