AFAIK .tar is simply an archive format, mainly used on unix systems. Use google to find the windows version of tar. Though why you would want to do this is beyond me. It doesn't compress, it is used to put multiple files into a single large archive for storage or distribution purposes.Originally Posted by Zain_s1986
