I won't go into what happened to my old hard drive but I had to replace it without being able to transfer any programs. When I bought a new one I went and bought Windows XP as well.
I installed the hard drive, Windows XP and then the newest version of TMPGE. I successfully converted avi and mpg files with no trouble but even with the vfp for mov files installed I get no sound from the mpg files I create from the mov files.
I had no trouble with this before. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Thanks

(smacking myself in the head) I plumb forgot about the codecs. Let me check that out and see.

Actually a fair number of qt/mov files have encyrpted audio (not sure why). The only way I've found around this is to use a program like total recorder to generate a wav file to use as audio source.
It's hit and miss too. I d/loaded the three animatrix clips and 2 converted fine while one did not (had to use total recorder) ?!
