I have a divx which virtual dub claimed had an improper vbr. I extracted the sound to wav and used virtual dub to create a new avi which after trial and error is perfectly synchronised (made corrections to audio interleving).
The movie is synchronised both in virtual dub and in wmp.
I used tmpgenc to convert it to mpg for vcd burning but whether i framerate or not, the result is the same...unsynchronised result!
How do i get the avi onto vcd and keep my synchronisation?
(the saved avi is the divx with an uncompressed wav combination)

I extracted the sound to wav
Don't rebuild the AVI - Just use your original AVI as Video source in TMPGEnc.
Use the WAV created with GoldWave as audio source.
...and before any of this - scan for and remove bad frames!

I used cooledit pro...does not really matter..the wav was extracted (goldwave never worked for me!)

I had to rebuild..I had to adjust the sound synchronization by adjusting interleaving which I HAVE NOT WORKED OUT HOW TO DO IN TMPGN or i would have done it there directly!
I know there is a synch problem in the original..(virtual dub aluded to the improper vbr)which is why i did the work beforehand....importing the wav and the divx will not solve this problem as far as i know. I have done this before, and the synched avi result when used in tmpgen without framerate worked well. I need other suggestions.....
Thanks in advance -
In what way is the video out of sync? If it's off by a certain amount thruout the movie, just add some silence/cut a bit at the beginning of the WAV.
