I have a DV601 on the way and just wanted to know if anyone has edited with it using the G400 Marvel as a display card.
2 questions:
1) I have a dvd writer. Am I being simple in thinking that I can simply record, drop to premiere, edit, save out to DVD?
2) Since the main selling point for the 601 is video in, again am I being simple by thing I can convert hi8 film in edit and throw back out to vcds?
I have used Nero for vcd with no problem, Pioneer 343 DVD home unit. These questions are because I bought the Matrox G400 Marvel to end all my problems of lost frames and easy editing in the first place. Since I bought the video card there has been "little buts" to every easy operation...

is DV601 a miniDV camcorder? Looking at the model, I'm assuming it is; and you're going to use G400 Marvel, which is analog, to capture?
or am I missing something?
For best quality captures with DV camcorder, use a firewire card. -
I will just be using the G400 as a display card (video out) for editing via Premiere.
